Stargazing
Arches is an International Dark Sky Park, a place recognized for its quality night skies and a commitment to protecting and sharing natural darkness. On a clear night, you can see stars and perhaps the Milky Way just about anywhere in the park. Areas off the main park road with few obstructions of the sky are best. The farther north you drive, away from the lights of Moab, the darker the sky will be. Get much more information about stargazing on our Stargazing page.
Suggested areas:
- Balanced Rock Picnic Area
- The Windows
- Garden of Eden Viewpoint
- Panorama Point
Rangers lead night sky programs from May through October. Check the park event calendar on NPS.gov or at the Arches visitor center for night sky program dates.
